Happy Spring!

We’ve had a quite a bit of welcome rain to usher spring in this year, which I hope has broken the drought. It’s been a very mild winter and I’m hoping summer this year is not going to be another unbearably hot one. Well, we get what we get, and no complaining will change anything, so I’ve decided to just sit back and enjoy the ride 🙂

Both of my Giveaway winners have confirmed receipt of  their parcels, and that’s a big relief. Has anyone noticed how long things take in the mail these days? Only yesterday I heard on the news that an Australia Post worker had been jailed for theft of mail. This sent a shudder up my spine, ’cause we depend so much on the security of mail and the expectation that if we mail something it arrives at its destination in one piece.

On the stitching front, I did manage a few smaller projects while I gave the bigger ones a bit of a rest. Here’s what I’ve been up to…

Flax Fields, CHS

Design: Flax Fields
Designer: Carriage House Samplings
Fabric: 35count linen, Northern Cross Tea

Thread Gathering, LHN

I’ve run into other countries that have mail-theft problems. South Africa is infamous for it, and an etsy seller in England had several packets disappear (but once the mail carrier was replaced, the problem ended). 😦
Anyway, I’m thrilled the packet you sent me arrived without issues. It’s GORGEOUS. You are such a generous and talented friend. I doubt I’ll ever make it ‘down under’ but if I do, I know who I’m going to visit! 😀
Your current stitching is gorgeous. I love the colors in Flax Fields. 🙂

  2. Where I live, postal service is usually quite slow, so I spend most of time days wondering if things got lost or stolen or are just taking their time getting to where they need to be. It’s rather annoying, but I think I prefer slow service to bad service.

Flax Fields is quite nice, and the stitching looks so even and well-formed! It looks like a good piece to hang on the wall right over where you keep your sewing supplies!

I agree about the weather, very average Winter we have had and I’m expecting another scorcher of a Summer, yuck!!
Love your stitching, are you framing Thread Gathering? I think it will look fab.

    Gorgeous finishes!

Great finishes! I always enjoy seeing your stitching. We are in a drought now too but that is about the change with the tropical storm that is moving up from the Gulf of Mexico – we really need rain.

So pretty… love both of the finishes.

They are both gorgeous Pokua. We have had so much rain recently. I never complain about getting rain as I know how dry some other areas are, but if we get too much Spring rain and with the snow melting in the mountains, which are about an hour away, we will end up with floods. We have already had two instances of flooding which didn’t cause any damage but created havoc on our local roads.
