I promised to show you the second of my latest finishes: The Bird Tree, Carriage House Samplings is one of the design on my list of 2011 stitching plans. I started this one sometime last year with the prescribed threads on 32 count cream linen. Somehow, the cream linen didn’t do it for me and I put the project aside. Then I chanced on Karen’s post where she mentioned a similar experience and how she handled it. With a possible solution in mind, I got out the said stitching, and am I glad I did. A really lovely design that looks so much better after a little tea dyeing. I’m happy 🙂
And here’s the WIP I’m working on at the moment.
True Virtue (Janie Appelbaum) from Just Cross Stitch Magazine April 1997. Started on 27 October 2006 :8O:
Soon to be finished. I find the muted colours in this traditional sampler design very soothing to stitch.
And now for the new start – again from my 2011 stitching list – the Sally Spencer Sampler, Birds of a Feather. Here are my first tentative stitches on a design I know I’ll enjoy stitching.
Feels like we’ve launched straight into winter from summer here in Perth. Only a couple of weeks ago we were sweltering in 28°+ heat. Yesterday it was a low 19° Celcius during the day and today doesn’t feel any warmer. That’s Perth for you. At least we had some much needed rain last week that broke a long drought!
Happy Stitching 😉
