Sara Hathorne Framed

This is the second stitched piece I had framed.

Sara Hathorne (Hester’s Needle) in all her glory…

It’s been a bit of a challenge photographing these framed pieces because of the glass. I had my anniversary sampler framed with non-reflective glass so I didn’t have that problem. This new framer I went to was not in favour of the non-reflective stuff. He said they take away the depth of colour in the displayed piece, and I see what he’s saying. Moreover, it costs much less to have normal reflective glass.  But … the ones framed with normal glass have a distinct disadvantage because they reflect a lot of ‘stuff’, and I live in a home with lots of windows (25 in all).

I have another six stitched pieces in the drawer and I’m thinking I’ll have non-reflective glass when I get them framed.  I’d appreciate some advice from fellow stitchers and framers about what’s best.

Happy Stitching 😉
