I’m Happy! 🙂 And it’s not just because I have a large stitchy finish to share with you. 2011 has started out as a sort of watershed in my life for a number of reasons:
1) I was finally appointed permanently to the public sector in the job I’ve been doing for the last 18 months and which I applied for way back sometime in June 2010, I think. That ‘s taken a whole lot of pressure off the job hunting process, which is an emotional roller coaster if you’ve ever experienced it. I’m grateful for the financial and emotional security that gives me, especially at this time when the global situation is difficult for many.
2) My eye surgery was a great success and healing well – the fish oil capsules helped the healing a whole lot – and I hope to get the other eye done in six months or so. I’m grateful for being able to afford the surgery to restore my eyesight.
3) My DS, the younger of my two children, turned 21 today. He chose a close family get together to celebrate. It feels so good for me, this celebration. The memories of all the hard work and personal struggle to raise a family and maintain a profession have fallen away. I feel fulfilled and contented. I am grateful for the privilege.
4) Sara Hathorne is all done! She lay dormant and abandoned during Dec/Jan when I had difficulty stitching. I got serious again in February and finished her last weekend. Happy Dance, Happy Dance, Happy Dance! I’ll let the pictures speak…
Yours in happy gratitude 😉
