New Year, New Start

In keeping with a tradition some stitchers have, I started a new design to mark the new year.  I decided on a design by The Drawn Thread,  one of my all time favourite designers.

Morning Glory - Drawn Thread

Morning Glory, Drawn Thread
Fabric – 32 count Pewter Belfast linen
Threads – Weeks Dye Works/DMC as stipulated

I’ve also spent a couple of days sorting out patterns that I’d like to stitch in 2011:

Thread Gathering - Little House Needleworks

ABC Lessons - Lizzie Kate

Pear Orchard Farm - Carriage House Samplings

Hornbook Sampler, Barrick Samplers

Old Fruit Tree - Carriage House Samplings

Bitter Flower Sampler - Birds of a Feather

Sally Spencer - Birds of a Feather

I’d also like to stitch a few designs from the Goode Huswife Book of Designs Vol III

A little ambitious, don’t you think? especially given the state of my eyesight. I remain full of optimism, however 🙂  I’m booked in to St John of God Hospital for my eye surgery on 24 January, which is only two weeks away now. Do you think I’ll be able to stitch f aster when it’s all over? I sincerely hope so ❗

In the meantime, I continue to enjoy the last few days of my holidays – back to work next Monday 17 Jan.

Happy Stitching 😉

Great start – you have some lovely stitchy plans too, going by the charts you’ve chosen. In case I don’t remember closer to the time, fingers crossed for your surgery – hope everything goes well, and that the recovery time is minimal 🙂
