Happy Dance! A Major Finish

Dear Stitching Friends

It’s a great pleasure indeed to share this major finish with you – Drawn Thread’s Marriage of the Minds. I started stitching it in January 2010 to commemorate our 25th wedding anniversary in 2009 and joined Gaynor’s  2010 Weekly SAL to keep me focussed, but that did not prevent a few mishaps such as running out of green silks twice over the 6 months.

All that is forgotten now 🙂 and here is what I have to show for it…

MOTM Full length

MOTM part 1

MOTM part 2

MOTM part 3

I changed the last section to include the names of our children and their dates of birth. My photography does not do justice to the finished piece and today’s winter sun is not so intense.

Thanks to the generous advice of stitching friends, I stayed with the recommended silks and stitched with one strand over 2 linen threads.  It was my first experience, and at first the stitching looked ‘flimsy’ and didn’t cover the fabric sufficiently. But I’m so happy with the finished result, I’ll do it again. Thank You!

Happy Stitching 😉
