My stitching friend Vinniey in Singapore so kindly gave me 2 blog awards a little while ago. I’ve been caught up trying to sort out my car after the storm damage and haven’t been able to acknowlege them until now.
I’m African by origin – I come from a small country on the West Coast of Africa called Ghana, which was a British colony (named Gold Coast) before we gained independence on March 6 1957 (the year I was born)
I’ve called Australia home this past 26 years – I first landed in Melbourne at 7:30am on 1 April 1984
I have a double degree in French and Spanish and speak 5 languages, including 2 Ghanaian languages and English
I’m awestruck by the beauty of nature and love to grow flowers and vegetables
I had a near-death experience in 2008 as a result of which I’ve stopped sweating the small stuff
My children think I’m a crazy cross stitch obsessed mum who refuses to go to rehab
When I grow up, I want to be an artisan – working with fibre and fabric 😉
Now, instead of selecting up to 12 other people to pass the award to, I want to express my deepest appreciation to the stitching and crafting community who share through their online presence their passion, their skills and know-how as well as their friendship. My involvement in craft through my stitching brings me peace and a deep connectedness to others, so I say:
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to all of you who contribute to this wonderful global crafting community
Wishing you all a Happy Easter. Hope you can fit a few more stitches during the short break and take care not to get chocolate on your fabric!
Happy Stitching 😉
