Stashing and Stitching News

Monday 1 March! What happened to February? As my freezing friends in the northern hemisphere look forward to spring, we continue to swelter in 37-42 deg celcius  over the last 10 days or so. Yesterday they announced that this is the hottest ever summer for Western Australia.  Today is Labour Day so I’ve been enjoying a long (and hot) weekend, which I’ve spent mostly indoors. Which means more stitching tim

I’ve made serious inroads to Marriage of the Minds (MOTM), except I ran out of the Gloriana Green Gables. You can see the ‘dry patch’ in the grass to the right. Anyway, the Crewel Goblin kindy  rushed me more supplies, which arrived in the mail on Friday. BUT, I’ve only just discovered to my dismay that it’s a brighter green than what I’ve already stitched with 😕  Tell you what, the ups and downs I’ve experienced stitching this sampler soo reflect my 25 yr marriage, it’s uncanny!  But, I’m responding with the same resolve and I know it will turn out a beauty 🙂

 Here’s my progress so far

Drawn Thread, MOTM - stitching progress

Drawn Thread, MOTM - detail view

The detail in this first part of the sampler is amazing. It took me a bit of time and concentration to complete, but it’s really beautiful.

Aside from stitching, I’ve also been stashing big time   Hold, on a minute! I can justify the much needed splurge:

  1. Collect soon to be out of print designs from The Goode Huswife
  2. Add to my Carriage House Samplings collection
  3. Add to my Lizzie Kate collection, especially the Green Flip-Its
  4. Add new designers to my collection – Jardin Prive and Raquel Blasco
  5. Enhance my scissor collection
  6. Help to the improve the economy

Perfectly good wise reasons for a stitcher, don’t you think?

New Stash - Goode Huswife

New Lizzie Kate and Samsarah stash

Carriage House Samplings stash

Scissors from Yuko and Zecca fob

It’s past midday already, so I’d better get back to MOTM and put in a few stitches before the day gets away from me.

Wishing you Happy Stitches this  first day of March 2010 😉

Wow your sampler is wonderful Pokua…I really hope you´ll find a suitable green…that´s always a problem buying handdyed threads later, you won´t get the same dye-lot again;-((

And your new stash is great;-)) if you ever finish the Dutch strawberries in future, just think of me, I would love to lend this chart….I love this one for so long meanwhile but won´t buy just this one chart because of high postage to Europe…is that OOP soon???

Just send some of your high temperatures to Europe…we are still having bad weather…

Beautiful progress on your sampler. You got some nice stash there too.

  3. Barbara says:

Drooly charts there, Pokua. You have VERY good taste! 😀

    Hi Pokua, sorry that I seldom visit your blog lately due to house renovation and busy with my designing career. It’s 34-35 degree celcius over here in Malaysia and I cannot stand the heat! I can’t imagine how mad am I if the heat goes up to 40 degree celcius. All your stash are so beautiful, you must be very busy this year with these new stash. I order scissors from Yuko too, hope I can get these beauties from her soon. 🙂 Happy Stitching, Pokua. {{{Hugs}}}

May I know what fabric you used for “Marriage of the Minds”? It looks so nice and pretty!
