This past week I’ve been at home taking a break between jobs. Unfortunately, the government’s 3% efficiency cuts has affected my job. The unit where I’ve been working for the last 7 years or so was one of 3 Curriculum Support centres in Western Australia and our role was to provide professional support to private and public training providers. I loved that job 🙂 It was me to a ‘T’ – research, innovation, networking, writing courses, translating technical training language into practical instructional strategies. Our unit closed down on 30 June, and I’ve been on a temporary placement at the Department of Education and Training since then. Last Friday 31 July was my last day there, and my workmates presented me with the most wonderful bouquet of flowers.
I’ve been enjoying this bouquet all week as it sits on our large kitchen/family room bar. While I’ve been grieving the loss of a wonderful job, I do believe that as those doors closed, other doors and oppotunities will be opening up for me.
In the meantime, I’m having fun at home relaxing, stitching and getting the garden ready for spring.Today I had lunch with a few close friends and we enjoyed such lovely weather. Feels like spring already in Perth – but I know we will experience a few chilly mornings yet!
From the stitching point of view, there’s been a very happy ending and some very vigorous happy dancing happening at my house 😆 Kindness is finished and my how I loove it! I can’t help myself…. it’s so beautiful!
This one is going to be framed very very soon. It would be a crying shame to leave it rolled up in a drawer.
Happy stitching 😉
